Our Top Tips for creating your own sanctuary with home fragrances

At a time when our routine and lifestyles have been disrupted, we have all become aware how important looking after our well-being is. Creating a nice welcoming environment around us is one of the ways we to help us do this. Often, (because our memory is linked to our sense of smell) our memories of a place we have visited or of a loved one are triggered. Our sense of smell is powerful!

Nothing is more comforting and inviting than the fragrance in somebody’s home or when we walk into a room, it helps us to relax and unwind. Pleasant fragrances within our home is key to unlocking some of our unwanted tension (that and wine or your favorite drink of choice ...).

Burning a candle in our home is a simple way to diffuse fragrances throughout our home because it can help us feel good. Both candles and diffuser's are a good way to do this.

Today to celebrate the launch of our bespoke Home Fragrance range, we are sharing our top tips to creating that all-important cosy and comforting home sanctuary filled with scent:

- Consider your budget wisely - When you invest in a candle made from premium wax and perfume-grade fragrance, hours of scents will be yours. Tired of the same old fake fragrances of high street candle brands? Buy cheap and your olfactory system could pay but with our custom-blended, UK produced fragrance range, we know that the quality and complexity is something that will boost your mood and even become a homely ritual, helping you feel more zen from the outside in.

- Remember to care for your Candle - It’s true, candles need burning for a minimum time for their first use to help prevent tunneling and to care for the wick. To begin, candles should burn one hour for every 1 inch in diameter of the actual candle size. If diffuser's are more your style (and although you shouldn’t need to do this with ours) some people like to invert the reeds every couple of weeks

- Zone your scents – As mentioned earlier our memory is strongly connected to the sense of smell. With this in mind, it is good to ‘zone’ by fragrance as it evokes a particular feeling in certain areas of your home. By giving your office one scent, you know it's work time and work mode. By giving your bedroom a different scent, you know it’s time to relax. Scented candles work wonders in transforming your space and creating ambiance with the warm glow of a flickering candle. They can transport you back to that far-flung destinations without leaving your living room!
